CENTER STAGE THEATRICS

At Center Stage Theatrics, our mission is to nurture and develop the artistic talents of young people in Oregon and beyond. We are committed to providing exceptional theatrical education and transformative performance opportunities, fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Founded by Seth Renne and Barbara Curtis, Center Stage Theatrics is a nonprofit arts education organization. As lovers of both theater and summer camp, this is a passion project for Seth and Barbara, along with a lot of some really talented folks.

Seth Renne - Founder - Board President

Seth Renne (He/Him) is a freelance author, director, and creative artist with a lifelong passion for theatre and youth development. He holds a B.S. in Theater Arts from Western Oregon University and has performed professionally with companies including Broadway Rose Theatre Company, Lakewood Theatre, Penguin Productions and Pixie Dust Productions.

Seth spent eight years managing Gallery Theater in McMinnville and previously served as Production Manager for Broadway Rose Theatre in Tigard. His directing credits include Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast, Fly By Night and more at Gallery Theater; A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Penguins Productions; William Finn’s Make Me a Song at Bridgetown Musical Theatre; and Right Field of Dreams with Gather Repertory Theatre.

Beyond the stage, Seth is an experienced educator and camp leader. He currently serves as an Instructional Assistant at Grandhaven Elementary School in McMinnville. His love for camp life began early—he was named Camp Tilikum’s Volunteer of the Year in 2001 and later served as head counselor for the Broadway Rose summer and spring break camps.

Seth is the co-founder and Board President of Center Stage Theatrics, where he brings his creative vision and leadership to programs like Camp Center Stage, CST’s overnight summer camp for young performers. He is thrilled to be on this adventure and deeply committed to empowering the next generation of artists.

Barbara Curtis - Founder

Barbara (She/Her) has taught Pre-Kindergarten for the McMinnville School District since 2015. Prior to that, she served as a children and youth minister, a camp director, a preschool teacher, and corporate childcare center director. Beth Staats - Treasurer

Beth Staats (She/Her) is a High School teacher and long time arts supporter, usually working behind the scenes in the costume shop or as an assistant stage manager.  Beth has two sons and spent many years as a scout mom.  She is excited to bring her scouting background and love of the arts together at CST.

Mathieu Voisine - Co-Vice President

Mathieu (He/They/She) is an award winning actor, director, producer, and filmmaker who once taught Al Pacino’s kids how to make a short film- unironically.

By day, Mathieu is a hospitality and event coordinator and the father of two incredible daughters. Mathieu studied and performed at The Groundlings in Los Angeles as well as other sketch and improv schools such as Second City and IO West where their award winning two person sketch group performed.

While living in LA and in school, Mathieu worked in film and television, behind the scenes to onscreen and everything in between. When back in Oregon, Mathieu found some success in the local Portland film scene where he had supporting roles in a feature and two popular web series and taught an “Honesty in Improv” class for adults.

Mathieu is beyond thrilled to be a founding board member as well as co-vice president of Camp Center Stage where the goal is inclusivity above all as well as a discovery of self through different mediums of arts!

Noah Miller - Co-Vice President

Noah (He/They) is a vocal music education major at Western Oregon University as well as a dance and piano teacher at Northwest School of Music. He has done shows with multiple Oregon theaters over the past 8 years and grew up being constantly around musical theatre.

Noah has been a counselor for multiple summer camps, including the Gallery Theater Kids Camp and being a music director for Dunes Bible Camp. His passion for teaching others about the wonderful world of the performing arts is what carries him through the toughest parts of life, and posits that everyone deserves to have an education through the theater.

Nicole Holmes - Recording Secretary

Nicole (She/Her) has always loved theater from a young age. She also spent a lot of time around the theatre as a child due to her grandparents’ heavy involvement; a tradition proudly carries on today with her own work. Since 2016 she has worked extensively on and off stage, from ensemble work to dressing to assistant stage managing. In 2018, Nicole was co-awarded Gallery Theater’s “Volunteer of the Year” alongside fellow board member Beth Staats.

Nicole is a strong believer in comprehensive and accessible youth theatre education. A native Oregonian, she’s also a strong believer in the healing nature of a good week spent out in the woods, enjoying the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Bridger (He/Him) is a lifelong advocate for the performing arts, bringing a deep passion for theater and community to their role on the board. Having grown up in theater camps, they experienced the stage as both a space for storytelling and a refuge for self-expression.

Now a champion of inclusive, accessible theater, Bridger is committed to creating spaces where everyone feels empowered to be themselves. They strive to uphold authenticity, creativity, and care to ensure theater continues to uplift and unite.

We acknowledge that we live and operate in what is now known as Yamhill, Clackamas, and Marion Counties, on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded lands of the Kalapuya, Molalla, and Clackamas peoples. We express our deep gratitude to these Indigenous nations, who have cared for this land for generations and who continue to live, lead, and create here today.
